Veyre Chair, 2024

The Veyre chair is designed in homage to lightweight camping seats and hiking equipment, initially presented in Sardine Sardine, at the Villa Noailles in 2022. This chair takes its name from the Massif de Marseilleveyre located in the Calanques National Park. The leather patterns are inspired by backpack paddings and camping gear which must be not only ergonomic but also comfortable for hiking and resting.

This leather version, intended for indoor use, was an opportunity to highlight a contemporary adaptation of exceptional know-how to create the padded pattern, entirely sewn by hand and upholstered in Marseille, France, with the incredible skill of Relax Factory. The leather seat and back are entirely garnished with 100% French wool felt layers for a comfortable seating.

We follow a process of carefully selecting incredible quality hides from the 1960's - 1980's, in limited supply, salvaged from water damage in an iconic Marseille shoemaker’s atelier, thus each chair is created with a unique leather and colour. We always love to go through the leather selection process together with our clients to create a unique identity for each chair.
