Les Ornes Sconces, 2023

VOTO XO Les Ornes sconces adorn the bronze and beeswax Myrrhe mirror on its sides, created for Melitosfex’s dressing table and vanity, in The Queen Bee's Secret Chambers. We wanted to blur the certainty of their origins; these sconces could be from ancient civilizations, from a neo-futurist fiction.

Each sconce is designed and crafted with exceptional detail and care. The translucent alabaster body, like a sculptural and biomorphic abdomen, smoothly diffuses its light in the room, revealing the gleaming crystals and precious stones mounted on the bronze structure. Using the lost wax and sand casting technique, as well as the stone cabochon mounting, we wanted each sconce to be crafted like a jewel, held by two ceremonious bronze torques.

Designed and manufactured between Marseille, Montreuil and Paris in collaboration with Delisle, a unique French Maison d’Art, bronze casters and ironworkers since 1895.
