Myrrhe Mirror, 2023

Bronze and beeswax mirror created for Melitosfex’s dressing table and vanity, in The Queen Bee's Secret Chambers. We used the lost wax casting technique to bring to life this solid bronze piece, from the body to the mirror itself, to the ornaments on its surface.

We were inspired by the fascinating properties and aspect of liquid materials stemming from the beehive, (nectar, honey, wax) as well as solidified saps trapping thousand-year-old stories like amber, in which the first known bee-wasp species was found fossilized — Melittosphex burmensis.

Designed and manufactured between Marseille, Montreuil and Paris in collaboration with Delisle, a unique French Maison d’Art, bronze casters and ironworkers since 1895.
