Sardine Sardine, 2022
Sardine Sardine pays tribute to camping in the Mediterranean. It is inspired by the summer atmosphere of the 1970s in the South of France and today's technical camping equipment. We imagined Sardine Sardine as a warm space, defined by its foldable tubular structure, which can be deployed both indoors and outdoors. This soft floored yellow tent, bathed in southern light, shelters a real adventure setting.
In small spaces like a tent or caravan, each object has a meaning, a personality. We re-imagined the camp bed, the flashlight, the aperitif table, the moscatelli, the chair and other objects specific to this universe. We mostly used recycled or sustainable materials, rehabilitated damaged objects, and produced locally to create this installation. We wanted to connect upcycling with artisanal know-how.

The space and furniture refer to the daily rituals of camping, coexisting in smaller spaces such as the inside of a tent. The slightly elevated wooden platform was designed in reference to 1970’s caravans. It allows the distinction between a more intimate space, the resting & sleeping area, and the convivial living room.
